Welcome to Mrs. Bui's Music Class Website!
As we are all spending extra time at home and are not able to come together to make music, I am putting together some resources for musical activities you to do at home with your family. Please click below to get some ideas!
Thank you for visiting our classroom website! My name is Carrie Bui, and I am the main music teacher at Eastern Elementary for the 2019-2020 school year. I teach all students in 1st through 5th grade as well as Mrs. Owen's kindergarten class. Mrs. Brazee teaches the remaining kindergarten and Young 5s sections.
I am so happy to be a part of the Eastern family. It is especially meaningful because I attended "old Eastern" for elementary school. I have had a great time getting to know the students in my classes so far and will work hard learning everyone's names. I plan to use this site to share materials with students and families.

Big Thank You!
We have had many generous donations this year from a variety of groups and I want to say how grateful I am to everyone who has supported our music classroom. Three groups in particular provided money to purchase instruments through donations and grants are the Eastern Elementary PTO, Traverse City Music Boosters, and the Traverse City Chapter of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel. As a thank you, we made thank you videos for each of these groups. We hope you enjoy them!
Donate to our Classroom
A fifth grader recently had the idea to start a fundraiser for our music classroom. We will be trying to raise money to purchase a new bass xylophone or two for the music classroom. These instruments cost around $500 and do not typically fit into the yearly budget. We currently have one bass xylophone and one bass metallophone.
As this student pointed out, "We really like playing these instruments so it would be great to have some more so more kids can play them." Students in K-5 use them to play accompaniment parts, practice performing steady beat, explore melodic direction, and compose/arrange. To help us fund this special project, please click here. Be sure to list "Eastern Elementary Music" as the recipient. |
